Harris Farm Markets is slammed for bizarre fruit sale signs the offer no discount

Harris Farm Markets is mocked for bizarre fruit sale signs found in every store – so can you see the problem?

  • TikTok user highlighted strange ‘sale’ signs he saw at Harris Farm Markets
  • Musician Benny Hill used a song to make fun of the odd fruit ‘discounts’
  • Video shows that the supermarket’s ‘deals’ offer little to no savings on fruit

Harris Farm Markets have been mocked for their fruit sale signs that don’t actually show a discount.

Musician Benny Davis brought attention to the supermarket chain’s ‘deals’ via a clip on TikTok.

His video compares Harris Farm’s ‘special’ signs which show that buying multiple items costs the same as buying just one, unlike those at other supermarket chains.

‘Why do you have these signs @harrisfarmmarkets,’ he captioned the now-viral TikTok.

Davis begins his song with ‘Harris Farm, why do you have these signs? You have em’ [sic] up in your stores all the time’.

He then films a montage of the different signs at a local Harris Farm Market, with the comedic singer occasionally popping into frame to appear next to a ‘deal’.

‘Everything from avocado, berries to peach – four dollars for two or two dollars each,’ he continued.

‘Harris Farm, why do you have these signs? They make me double take every time. Whenever I see them I stop for a minute and I wonder why it’s there if there’s no sale in it.’

Davis goes into detail about the mathematics behind the shop’s sales and how the discounts make no logical sense.

He then questions whether the company is trying to ‘trick’ people with the false belief there actually is a sale.

‘Harris Farm, what do you do this for? Are you trying to trick people into buying more? Thinking there’s a sale when there isn’t one. Are your staff just having a bit of fun?’

‘What’s going on Mr Harris? I think you might be taking the p***. I’m not saying the signs are a lie, but I just don’t get why?’ he added.

The musician’s followers largely agreed with his questioning over the strange deals, while others said they enjoyed Davis’ tune.

One TikTok user wrote: ‘I mean, you hit the nail on the head – it’s to trick people into buying more.’

‘Here for Harris Farm’s PR response,’ commented another.
