Kamala Harris flies to North Carolina to push Biden’s infrastructure bill and is preparing to visit a border state this week (but it’s not in the South)

Vice President Kamala Harris touted Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan in North Carolina on Monday and is preparing to visit a border state on Friday.
But it won’t be a southern state she’ll visit.
Harris is on the road to sell the administration’s American Jobs Plan. As part of her road show, she’ll be in New Hampshire on Friday, local media reported.
And while New Hampshire is on the border with Canada, the vice president’s visit will be in the center of the state, the Laconia-Plymouth area, WMUR reported.
Harris has become the point person diplomatic efforts at the Southern border, where a record number of migrants are crossing into the United States.
The vice president has come under fire for not visiting the area. She said last week she’ll visit Mexico and Guatemala soon as part of those duties but no exact date has been released.
Friday will mark her visit to New Hampshire since she ran for president. New Hampshire hosts the first-in-the-nation presidential primary and plays an important role in the nomination process.
Harris has been at the forefront of several of President Joe Biden’s initiative since she took office.
In North Carolina, the vice president said the $2 trillion infrastructure package would bring ‘good jobs’ to Americans.
Speaking at Guilford Technical Community College, Harris said a ‘good job’ means only having to work one for a living wage and not having to worry about safety issues.
‘A good job allows people the freedom to build the life you want to reach as high as you want to aspire,’ she said.
‘Good jobs are what the President and I will create with the American Jobs Plan. We will draw on the skills that millions of workers in our country already have,’ she added.
Harris’ office said the vice president was in North Carolina to promote the ‘good jobs’ aspect of Biden’s jobs plan, noting ‘good jobs are jobs empowering workers, paying a good wage, and offering the chance to do meaningful and purposeful work rebuilding our economy.’

Biden’s infrastructure plan includes $20 billion to convert the entire U.S. fleet of gasoline and diesel-powered school buses to electric vehicles.
The vice president will be joined on the tour by Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Rega, whose agency will oversee the transition to electric vehicles.
