Man is knifed to death on south London street and two others are in hospital after ‘triple stabbing’

  • Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Alpha Road in Croydon at 9.10pm
  • A man was pronounced dead at the scene and no arrests have yet been made
  • Two men, thought to be connected to incident, are in hospital with stab injuries

A man has been knifed to death and two others were left in hospital after a ‘triple stabbing’ on a street in south London. 

Officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Alpha Road in Croydon at around 9.10pm today and attended with the London Ambulance Service.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene and no arrests have yet been made.

Two other men, thought to be connected to the incident, arrived at a hospital in south London with stab injuries. Police are awaiting an update on their conditions.

A crime scene is in place with enquiries ongoing to trace the deceased man’s next of kin, a spokesperson for the Met Police said. 

In a statement, the force said: ‘Police were called at approximately 21:10hrs on Tuesday, 30 March to reports of a stabbing on Alpha Road, Croydon.

‘Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. A man was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to trace his next of kin.

‘Two men have self-presented at a south London hospital with stab injuries. They are believed to be connected to the prior Alpha Road incident. We await an update on their conditions.

‘A crime scene remains in place and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. 

‘At this early stage, there have been no arrests.’

It follows a man, aged 19, being stabbed to death on the same street at around midday on March 3.

Multiple attacks also took place in Croydon on February 5, with one man killed and 10 people left injured. 10 stabbings took place in the space of two hours.

There is currently no link between these stabbings and today’s incident.
